Can you tell me,how does TÜV work in Germany?
I mean: you bild a winch-bumper or a winch-carrier,mount it onto your car,than visit TÜV. They examine your work,if is it safe,strong enough,etc.
Or what?
Should do the same with a body-lift kit,bigger tires and so on?

Hi Endre!
In Germany we have more laws then in any other country of the world, I guess...
You need TÜV for every car each two years, if it is a new car, then the first time 3 years.
They check all, what is necessary for safity in a car, Tires, wheels, Lights, suspension, exhaust and so on...
If you put your car higher or lower, take bigger or smaller wheels on it, bumpers, Roll-Bars, Suspension Kits, Bodylifts, you need a seperate TÜV. If you got some EU-Papers, then it´s no problem, if you want to get something special, you go to TÜV, he will check it and say yes, it´s Ok or it´s not Ok.
If it´s Ok, they write the Bodylift, the bumpers or so in the Papers, you pay for it, and drive. If you get into a police-control, and they check the car, they look for all the things, which you put on your car and see it in the papers.

Yes, I see know... But, if you make a custom winchbumper -instead of buying it from Taubenreuther,for example-, could it pass the TÜV?
In Hungary,there are no "written" rules regarding to winchbumpers,tires,etc.
You can mount these items onto your car,only TÜV exam could be a problem with them.
Hungarian TÜV is like a software for PCs. It has the basic functions,like recognizing the wide wheels,aftermarket xenon headlight kits,wings,spoilers,tinted films mounted on windows before A-pillars and so on... But doesn't have the '4x4 plugin ver.1.0'. So,they don't care about it (maybe only If you have so huge bumpers and some 'loud' parts). Of course,it's better to remove them before exam. 
And finally, if you have a wreck, and enough money/'good friends and connections' at the same time,than 'Nothing is impossible!'.   |

Hi!
I think, I leave my home and go to Hungary! 
If you built a self-made Winchbumper, it would be not so easy now! The laws will get stronger and stronger, and if you have no Papers (EU-Certification), then it will be nearly impossible, to get it through TÜV!
But Taubenreuther is not the only one, who sells Bumpers. There are many other Companies, who do that.
The problem ist the Homologation for the EU-TÜV, and this is very expensive! There must be many tests, before the TÜV says Ok to selling the parts in Germany. And this makes the parts much more expensive than in a country without TÜV.
The advantage is, the parts are tested through and through and you can be sure, that you get no parts, which are not tested especially for your car.
People here in Germany often wonder, why parts in America are so low-priced, but they have no TÜV, that means no additional charges! This is one thing, the Quality of many Parts is the other!
The disadvantage ist the price... 
I say, TÜV is a good Institution, but many of the inspectors are very smallminded, and this makes some things very difficult...

Rei hypothetisch brauchst du da keinen TüV mehr...kannst du auch als original verkaufen. Würde mich nicht wundern wenn du damit durch ne HU kommst und niemand etwas merkt...
Hut ab das sieht ja mal richtig genial aus.

Hallo Schmotzhand!
Wenn ich mir die Bilder so ansehe dann stellt sich mir doch die Frage: wolltest Du nicht einen Windenhalter anbauen
Das Ding sieht so standardmäßig aus, daß ich Lemming zustimme: den allermeisten Prüfern dürfte bei der HU gar nicht auffallen, daß es nicht Original ist. Wirklich klasse gemacht! 
Übrigens: wer muß eigentlich den Schaden an dem Panzer bezahlen, Du oder der Bund??? Ist der Panzer eigentlich Totalschaden? Der Lux hat jedenfalls nichts dabei abbekommen  |
