Arrgggh!!!
Hi all,
Noticed at lunch today, that for some reason, the rubber foot mats in my HZJ were very wet underneath...
Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the floor was also wet....You could see water coming out around where the foot rest is on the drivers side...
After taking out a bit of the floor covering on the drivers side I discovered that EVERYTHING was VERY WET. The water unfortunately had nowhere to go, as holes were plugged with grommets. Have removed them now, so at least it can dry out a little bit....
Its off to the dealer ASAP.... :-(
Soggy Greetings
Andrew |

Hi Andrew, I am sad to hear that you too do own an 'Aquarium'.
Just wanted to add: you may want to remove all floormats as the back tends to keep water for a very long time in summer even.......... |

Hi Peter!
Good news is its ONLY on the drivers side...
Will get it checked out ASAP - before the whole car
starts to smell...... |

Hello Andrew,
I had exactly the same problem on the driverside of my HZJ78. We checked all the cable holes and everything and at the end i think it was the sealing of the windshield. I went to a second Toyota Dealer and the windshieldsealing was the first Idea of the specialist there. He put a sealing compound all around ( it's a pain in the a.. to remove the the unused compound!) undernaeth the original sealing and that was the solution of my Problem.
Wish you good luck :greensmilewinkgrin:

Hi Herbertus
Pain to remove??? Did the 2nd dealer just smear everything full of the stuff and not bother to clean up?
I take it that it WAS a warranty repair.... :-(

Hello Andrew,
yes it was a warranty repair but you misunderstood me because the dealer made a perfect job and I didn't had to clean anything.
With still dry regards have a nice day
Hubertus (... and please not Herbertus ) |
