A question in English (sorry!)

Beitrag von bfgjohno »

Hallo,

I'm sorry my German is not very good.

I have a new 2010 Toyota Hilux 3.0 D4D. I am taking it to Africa. At present it has 265/65 R 17 Duellers on alloy wheels. I wish to fit steel wheels with BF Goodrich All terrains. I believe there can be a problem with a 16 wheel and the brakes. British companies are starting to make a 8 x 16 wheel with -7 offset but it will not be available for 2 months. I go to Africa in 1 month!

Nestle in Stuttgart fit original toyota 7.5 x 17 and 7 x 16 wheels to the vehicle. But they are 5 hours away from me. They will not give me the Toyota part numbers to give to my local dealer. help!

Any ideas would be most welcome.

John

Hi John,

you can fit 8x16 on you´r 3.0 D4D!
I drive 8x16 with cooper STT 285/75R16 on my 3.0 D4D and have no problem whit the brakes!

I get the rims here--> http://www.daktec.de/Felgen.html

On this pic you can see the 8x16 rims from Nissan Patrol (offset +10mm) on my truck -->

Thanks guys, very helpful,

My Hilux model number is KUN26R-PRMSYW - is that the same as yours Roman?

Did you change the suspension?

You bought 8x16 with +10mm offset?

Thanks again

Hi Roman,

Daktec are sold out! Typical.

Another guy has suggested the following original Toyota part numbers: 42611-60420 is a 17x6JJ from a LC120 Prado or 42611-35310 is a 17x7.5JJ from a LC120 Prado. Nothing in 16" though

These will both fit the new larger brakes he says.

I will check availability tomorrow.

John
